    Tara Jacobsen

    Tara Jacobsen

    Program Facilitator

    Tara Jacobsen is a passionate advocate for building regional economic sustainability by developing grassroots business skills and finding ways to connect business owners. Tara has  founded three training organisations in Safety Leadership (Registered Training Organisation) in the Pilbara WA and SE Qld, Neuroscience Leadership and now Business Growth Education (groei). As a program facilitator with USQ’s ground-breaking WiRE Program, she has worked to support businesses owners and leaders to know the “how” to grow their business and teams.

    Tara is currently a business mentor for a number regional business chambers, mentor and judge on regional start-up weekends, business awards and innovation accelerator hubs. She is the vice-president of Innovate Noosa and produces two podcasts the Importance of Being Human and On Track.

    Tara lectures in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Decision Making, Business, Leadership and Management for a number of leading Australian institutions and is currently undertaking her PhD on regional entrepreneurship.

    With over twenty years of working closely with entrepreneurs from business startup to maturity, Amanda Cole has seen her clients win awards, build strong and sustainable businesses and attain significant personal goals. As a leadership coach and strategy facilitator with Spark Consultants she has worked closely with business leaders to enable them with the tools to grow their business. Amanda is also Non-executive company director, and currently Chairman of four private company advisory boards including Shadforths Civil Construction and Sunfresh Linen.

    She is also Australia’s first and longest serving female Chairman for leading peer mentoring organisation The Executive Connection. Amanda is the recipient of the Centenary Medal for business and winner of the Telstra Young Business Woman’s Award (Qld) in 2000.

    Anne-Marie is an experienced facilitator well known in the Ipswich community. She will support facilitating our face to face workshops. She is one of the entrepreneurship facilitators with Y(E)P – an entrepreneur-centred service to encourage self-employment as a career in the Ipswich and West Moreton Region in Queensland.

    She is also founder and CEO of KidsWantU an App bringing parents and kids personalised fun together anywhere for “Real Life.”

    She is a board member of Queensland Enterprise Council and a Senior Associate at Impact Innovation Group specialising in innovation, technology commercialisation and start-up management.

    Katrina is another well-connected Ipswich small business coach and mentor. She will support all participants in our face to face (virtual) coaching sessions through the program.

    Katrina is the Managing Director of NewSky Consulting, she is passionate about community and creating connections and is an active member in both the Ipswich Chamber and the Springfield Chambers of Commerce.

    She is obsessed with the power of connection and leadership with integrity and has a unique blend of 25 years as Founding CEO of an award winning purpose driven NFP organisation, together with a background in business, management, marketing, human resources and quality systems.

    She has been successful in a range of awards and accomplishments including Finalist and Winner of the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    How much time will I need?

    The program runs over a 90 day (12 weeks) sprint. There are 3 face to face sessions of 3-5 hours each and then on the other weeks there is a virtual 90 minute session. To get the most out of the program and implement the learning you’ll need to do some extra work. How much work you do in between sessions is up to you, however we would recommend you spend at least an hour a week working on your business and dedicate an hour monthly for a team meeting to report on your success measures.  

    When do we meet?

    Every week on Thursday via Zoom from 7 – 8.30am Qld Time. Dates for the face to face sessions are BOOTCAMP: 21st April  (9 – 1), Mid Program Session: 2nd June –  9 – 12 and Graduation on 14tth July  from 3 – 6. The first weekly Zoom session is on the 28th April 

     

    What’s the class size?

    Each cohort starts the meeting in a Zoom meeting group of a maximum of 42 (generally groups of 24) . You do the work in breakout groups with your colleagues from your business.  

    What preparation will I need to do?

    We will guide you through the preparation for the sessions in our onboarding modules.  

    What kind of support will I get?

    Your groei mentor is there to help you apply the material to your business and are available on chat via groei.Us and you will have access to your peers through our groei.Us community platform. You will also get 4 x 30 mins coaching sessions throughout the program from your groei facilitator.

    What if I miss a session?

    All our workshops are recorded so you can circle back if you can’t make the Live event. We strongly encourage you to prioritise the workshops to ensure you maintain the routine.  

    How do you protect confidentiality?

    All participants accept our confidentiality agreement as part of their conditions of membership. Chatham House rules apply during all workshop sessions.  

    What if I want to leave the program?

    The program is designed to be delivered over 12 weeks so please get in touch if you find the process does not work for you. Refund requests will be at our discretion and will require 90 days notice. Refer to our T&C’s for full membership conditions on our website.  

    Do I get a certificate?

    Yep – you need to have completed all the workshops to be eligible.  

    Do I keep the tools after the program finishes?

    Yep…you retain ownership of the trello boards however to continue to access Lessons you will need to maintain your groei.Us subscription.
